What kind of wire is used to mount the flower?

Bare copper wire of 0.2mm thicknness is used for mounting.

Q: What kind of thread should be used for a good result ?
A: For the best result rayon floss should be used.

Q: What kind of wire is used for the stem ?
A: Bare copper wire 0.5mm can be used for the stem. Coloured, silver or gold plated copper wire can also be used.

Q: How many strands are used for the prepared thread ?
A: Usually two strands are used though one strand may also be used but in this case 0.2mm wire should be used.

Q: As a general rule, how many leaves should a flower have?
A: This very much depends on the type of flower, however  as a general rule we normally have three leaves for every flower and bud.

Q: What is the thickness of the silver or gold plated wire used to bead the glass beads?
A: For beading glass beads, the wire should be 0.25mm thick.

Q: What is the best way to store worked petals and leaves until such time that the flower or flowers are mounted?
A: A small number of identical petals or leaves may be stacked on top of each other, wrapped in acid free paper and stored in a small container.  A cardboard box is ideal. On no account should the leaves or petals be placed in a plastic bag.
